Storefront languages
JSON includes English, German, French, and Spanish storefront strings. Add and publish the languages your store uses through Shopify’s language settings, and configure their availability in Markets. The theme editor’s setting labels are in English.
Translate your own content
Built-in theme strings do not translate product descriptions, collection descriptions, pages, menus, story titles, or custom section text automatically. Translate these resources with Shopify Translate & Adapt or your chosen compatible translation workflow.
Country and currency
Enable country/language controls in the appropriate Header or Footer settings. Countries, currencies, and language choices come from Shopify Markets and store configuration. A selector cannot enable unsupported markets or payment currencies.
Check every language
Switch language on the homepage, collection, product, cart, and informational pages. Check text wrapping, translated links, prices, date formats, and empty states. Replace any demo English copy that remains in merchant-entered fields.
